Hi!

First of all, sorry on English, but problem is that I'm from Croatia and don't know German.

I have Yamaha TDR 125 2000 year which is bought in Germany and I want to derestrict it. I looked everywhere but nobody knows so you are my last chance because this bike is from Germany so I supose that someone else had this problem.

I removed the small piece of pipe which had been welded at the entrance to the exhaust and aligned the power valve with left hole, but bike still gives it's maximum at about 7500 rpm.

Can anyone know where is the problem?

You can answer on German, and I will translate it using Google.

Thanks a lot!

German version:

Hallo!

Hello TDRider...

7500 rpm at 6th gear results in about 95 km/h.

Your bike is not restricted! You may have a technical problem...

Best regards!

Are you kidding me, this bike should go at least 130.

In other gears it also gives its max at about 7-7.5k rpm.

I heard that I need to ground black/blue wire coming out of the cdi, but I don't know is this for my model and also where do I need to cut it?

you don't need to put the blue und black wire to ground. It ist one way do remove the limit of 80km/h but then the TDR should go over 7.500 Rpm until she arrives 80km/h.

Take a Look under yor fuel tank maybe there is ab Box with the Alpha tech Logo. Remove she an the TDR should go over 7.000. If there is no Box something must have been wrong. May be the setup of the carburetor or the exhaust is full of Oil.

As I heard my bike have the restriction on the revs which moves spark angle when bike reach 7k rpm.

Before one month ago when I was removed the tank, as I can remember there only was the black cdi box.

Is it possible that restriction is in the CDI?

with the Yamaha-CDI is it not possible that ist stops in all gears at 7.00 rpm. On the cdi that stops at 80km/h is written 5an1 and on the other one only 5AN. Maybe some one has turned the YPVS?

YPVS was the first thing what I was checked.

I removed the exhaust, and the turn the contact on, and the using my finger aligned valve.

I looked on my CDI, and on it is written 5AN.

Also I found on ebay, this item:

Do you know, can this derestrict my TDR?

Thanks!

Where I shall look next?

In the valve isn't problem, because i removed the exhaust and adjusted it with my finger.

Also problem isn't in the silencer, because I taken the ride without it.

Also I was cut the exhaust and there wasn't any restriction.

OK! I will do that, but I'm not optimistic that this would improve anything.

In the low RPM bike goes really great, and also you fell how it open's valve at the 5 and full at 6.5k RPM, and then suddenly stops at 7K.

It isn't problem in the valve, because one time i was put the valve in open position and then unplug the wires from the servo, and in low RPM bike had the lack of power, and then suddenly accelerates at about 5k, and then also stop at 7.

Here is video of my ride, and there clearly you can see, that it gives it best at 7k.

Sorry on bad quality

You have a CDI that ist not restricted no extrabox and a exhaust which is no longer reduced.

Than must someting broken or somebody has changed am Part e.g. the main jet.

But how bike goes well until the 7k and then suddenly stops.

If i have the smaller main jet then the airbox also would be restricted somewhere.
